Switzerland has outpaced France, Poland and the Nordics (Denmark Finland Norway and Sweden).
The prestigious UEFA Women’s EURO Soccer Tournament scheduled for 2025 will be hosted by Switzerland.
In yesterday’s fiercely contested vote in Lisbon, Portugal, the Switzerland triumphed over other bidders.
UEFA released a statement revealing that after three rounds, the Swiss Football Association had received nine votes. In the first round of voting, Nordics (Denmark Finland Norway Sweden) received four votes. Poland and Switzerland also had four votes. France only managed one vote.
The next round was decided by the same number of votes for Nordics, Poland and Switzerland. In the second round, Switzerland received six votes while Nordics got four. Poland also picked up three votes.
The Swiss association received nine votes, while the Nordics only had four.
Every four years, the UEFA Women’s EURO takes place. The last tournament took place in 2022. England won on home soil.
